After engineering school, I spent eight years in the oil field, running hydraulic fracturing operations in South Texas, Saudi Arabia, and the Permian Basin. I directed crews of up to 60 people executing some of the most demanding fieldwork in the energy industry, and later oversaw six crews and roughly 300 operating personnel across a district. Making fast decisions with incomplete information and earning trust from crews and executives alike is the foundation everything since has built on.

I then earned my MBA on a full scholarship at the University of Pittsburgh's Katz Graduate School of Business, concentrating in Strategy and Operations, and moved into management consulting. Since then, I've advised industrial and manufacturing companies on growth strategy, go-to-market design, and pricing, helping leadership teams make the calls that actually move the business.

Dave Petrone Consulting is where that experience comes together: a strategy practice built for manufacturers, by someone who has stood on the floor and in the boardroom.
